4am Project event at Bodies Revealed

Posted at 12th December 2009

As part of the 4am Project I organised a photo event on 6th December which was held at the Bodies Revealed exhibition in Birmingham. The 4am Project my global photography which asks people to capture their view of the world at 4am.

Thank you to everyone who took part! I’ve had lots of great feedback and I’m glad you enjoyed the event.

Lots of amazing photographs have been submitted to flickr!

I took the opportunity to ask some of the photographers how they heard about the 4am Project and if they enjoyed the event! Thank you everyone who took part in the video.

And there is more! Being a world wide project, lots of other photographers from around the world set their alarms and headed out in the wee small hours with their cameras to capture their world at 4am. Take a look!

If you would like to take part in the next 4am Project event, put the 4thApril in your diary! Maybe get some friends together too! You can keep up to date with all the 4am Project news on the website, and you can follow the project on twitter too @4amproject

A big thank you to the sponsors of the Birmingham event. Hello Digital, Big Cat PR and of course the Bodies Revealed exhibition.

Hello Digital 2009

Posted at 22nd October 2009

Yesterday’s photo assignment at Hello Digital for Aquila TV was a slighty different to other assignments I have done in that the photos were uploaded ‘live’ during the event. This meant that there was no time for editing, cropping or colour correction. Throughout the day I took batches of photographs which were then uploaded onto flickr to provide a live photostream.

It was a very busy and well attended event, and there were so many things to photograph! The result was that 102 photos were uploaded to the photostream. Here are a few of my favourites from the day…..

Alex Hughes is a freelance cartoonist and illustrator. I’d secretly always wanted Alex to draw me, but I had never liked say anything, but luckily Alex asked if he could, so of course I said yes!

Tonight will see me heading over to the Town Hall in Birmingham for the Style Awards. I’ll be covering the celebs on the red carpet for Rewired PR and then attending the award ceremony. It’s going to be a very stylish and glamorous night, and as a photographer you have to be ready for every occasion, so I’ve made sure I have all the appropriate kit in my bag ;)
