My current work

Posted at 27th February 2008

As this is my first post, I shall use it to show some of my most recent work.

I am very proud that the following photos that I submitted to the Birmingham Mail where chosen and displayed on their website. A wonderful boost. The website can be viewed HERE.

I very much admire the work of the New York photographer Joel Meyerowitz, especially his street photography where he liked to capture the social landscape. Joel Meyerowitz quote: One can glimpse these brief performances a hundred breathtaking times a day if only you lift your eyes to what is around you. Cities demand acute attention in order to be fully enjoyed – of course we say that about life too. Joel like the light, shade and shadows of the city scape, so I have tried to capture that in some of these pictures.

With him in mind I spent a sunny morning in Birmingham city centre taking pictures of people going about their day to day lives.

I have edited this image. There was originally a man standing in the background behind the bin. Using paint shop pro, I have removed him.
